Safety Tips to Avoid Scams
Important security notice: protect yourself from scams and safeguard your wallet
Dear WAWI Users,
Your security and trust are our top priorities. As a blockchain-based platform, we want to ensure you are equipped with the knowledge to protect yourself from scams and manage your wallet securely. Whether you’re new to blockchain or an experienced user, these guidelines are essential for your safety. Blockchain empowers you with full control of your assets, but this freedom comes with responsibility. No central authority can reverse transactions or recover lost funds – your security is in your hands.

- Scammers frequently create fake tokens with similar names. Character-by-character verification is essential. Each blockchain deployment serves a distinct purpose in our multichain ecosystem. Always verify contract addresses through our official channels before any transaction.
- No Sensitive Requests: WAWI will never ask for your private key, seed phrase, password, or request you to send funds to ‘verify’ your account via email, social media, direct message, or any other channel. Legitimate support never requires these credentials.
Wallet Security for All Users
For Non-Initiated Users:
- Understanding your wallet: Your wallet is your personal vault for digital assets. It has two parts: a public address (shareable, like an email address) and a private key (secret, like a password that controls everything). Lose your private key, and you lose access forever. Share it, and you give away full control.
- Use Trusted Wallets: Only use wallets recommended by WAWI or well-established providers. Avoid unknown or unverified wallet applications.
For Initiated Users:
- Advanced Security Practices:
- Use hardware (cold) wallets for added security when storing large amounts of crypto.
- Enable two-factor authentication on all accounts related to your wallet.
- Regularly update your wallet software to the latest version to benefit from security patches.
- Backup Your Seed Phrase: Store your seed phrase (a series of words used to recover your wallet) in a secure, offline location. Never store it digitally or share it with anyone.
- Exercise caution with Smart Contracts: Only interact with verified and audited smart contracts. Double-check contract addresses before approving transactions.
- Use transaction simulation: Consider using simulation tools to preview transaction outcomes before confirming. Always verify you’re interacting with official WAWI contracts by cross-referencing addresses on our website.
If You Fall Victim to a Scam
Despite all precautions, if you believe you have been scammed or your wallet has been compromised, please note the following:
- Prevention is your best protection : The decentralized nature of blockchain means you are your own bank. No customer service can reset your password or cancel fraudulent transactions. Treat your private key with the same care you would treat a suitcase full of cash – because that’s effectively what it is. The extra vigilance required is the price of financial sovereignty.
- Understand blockchain limitations : Blockchain transactions are permanent and irreversible by design. WAWI has no access to your wallet, private keys, or ability to reverse transactions. This is a fundamental feature of decentralized technology, not a limitation of our platform. We cannot recover lost funds or intervene in cases of fraud.
- Report Immediately: Contact the appropriate authorities or specialized organizations to report the incident. These may include:
- Local Police: File a report with your local law enforcement agency.
- FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3): If you are in the U.S., visit https://www.ic3.gov to report cybercrime.
- Specialized Organizations: Reach out to organizations specializing in cybercrime or financial fraud in your region.
Report Suspicious Activity
